The Dolphin Proteus DX3 Wall-Climbing Pool Cleaner handles walls efficiently with its active scrubbing brush. If you need dolphin proteus dx3 wall climbing pool alternatives, you might look for different specs. This unit weighs 14.8 pounds and fits pools up to 33 feet. It uses a plug-and-play system for simple operation. You may want a cordless option for easier movement. Some buyers prefer Wi-Fi control for remote scheduling. Others might need a cleaner for larger pools. The alternatives were chosen because their specs overlap with the original. Each model shares key features like wall climbing. They also target similar in-ground pool sizes. This list includes seven options from brands like Dolphin and BRINBO. You can compare weights, dimensions, and power sources. The selection covers budget, premium, and smart connectivity choices. You will find models with Wi-Fi or cordless designs. All listed products clean walls and floors. This guide helps you pick the right fit for your specific pool needs. Consider your pool size and desired features carefully.
How these alternatives compare to the DX3
Dolphin Nautilus CC Wall-Climbing Pool Cleaner
The Dolphin Nautilus CC shares the same 14.8-pound weight and 33-foot pool capacity as the DX3. It also climbs walls for in-ground use. The main difference is its smaller footprint. It measures 16.8 inches wide and 8.97 inches high, making it more compact than the DX3’s 17.6 by 12.8-inch body. You get similar mechanical scrubbing power without the extra bulk. This model suits standard pools where space is tight. It lacks the DX3’s specific active scrubbing brush description, but offers dependable wall cleaning. If you want a simpler, smaller unit for smaller in-ground pools, this is a practical swap.
Dolphin Liberty 200 Cordless Pool Cleaner
The Dolphin Liberty 200 is cordless, which removes the tether constraint of the plugged-in DX3. It weighs more at 17.9 pounds and has a taller profile of 17.3 inches high. It still targets in-ground pools up to 33 feet and climbs walls. You gain freedom from a power cord near the pool edge. However, you lose the straightforward plug-and-play simplicity of the DX3. The Liberty 200 requires charging cycles. It is a solid choice if you value cordless operation and easy charging over the direct electrical connection of the DX3. It fits small to medium pools similarly but offers a different power source.
Dolphin Nautilus CC Pro Wi-Fi Pool Cleaner
The Dolphin Nautilus CC Pro Wi-Fi handles larger pools up to 50 feet, exceeding the DX3’s 33-foot limit. It weighs 16.5 pounds and is boxier at 20 inches cube. It features Wi-Fi connectivity for remote scheduling, a significant upgrade from the DX3’s manual plug-and-play operation. You get smart control and extended coverage. The trade-off is increased size and complexity. If you need to clean larger in-ground pools and want to schedule runs via an app, this model offers more reach and convenience. It sacrifices the compact simplicity of the DX3 for smart features and greater pool compatibility.
BRINBO Cordless Wall-Climbing Pool Cleaner
The BRINBO Cordless Pool Cleaner is designed for large in-ground pools with an emphasis on long runtime. It is cordless, offering mobility unlike the tethered DX3. It specifically highlights waterline cleaning, a feature not explicitly detailed for the DX3. The unit measures 20.4 inches long and 15.6 inches wide, making it larger than the DX3. It weighs no listed amount but is built for extended battery life. You trade the DX3’s known 33-foot limit and plug-in simplicity for wall climbing and waterline scrubbing in larger pools. It suits users who prioritize extended runtime and multi-surface cleaning over a known corded workflow.
Dolphin Explorer Wi-Fi Pool Cleaner
The Dolphin Explorer Wi-Fi covers in-ground pools up to 50 feet, double the DX3’s 33-foot capacity. It weighs significantly more at 40.2 pounds and measures 16 inches wide. It features Wi-Fi connectivity for scheduled cleaning, moving beyond the DX3’s manual operation. It climbs walls and targets larger spaces. The heavy weight and larger size are the main trade-offs. You gain smart scheduling and greater coverage area. This model fits owners of larger in-ground pools who value remote control via Wi-Fi. It sacrifices the lightweight, compact nature of the DX3 for robust performance in bigger pools and app-based management.
MOREBOT Wall-Climbing Cordless Pool Vacuum
The MOREBOT SAT 25 is a cordless wall-climbing vacuum for medium in-ground pools. It weighs no listed amount but measures 13 inches long and 9 inches wide, making it narrower than the DX3. It offers smart navigation and versatile surface traction. You gain cordless operation and advanced navigation compared to the DX3’s basic plug-and-play system. The trade-off is a different navigation approach and lack of specific brush details found in the DX3 data. It suits buyers who prioritize direct support and versatile traction over the established mechanical scrubbing of the DX3. It is a compact, smart alternative for medium-sized pools.
