The Dolphin Pool Cleaner Lineup Compared
You can divide this lineup by pool size and power source. For compact pools up to 33 feet, corded units like the Dolphin Escape use continuous tracks for traction. If you want freedom from cords, cordless models like the Dolphin Liberty 200 provide 90-minute runtimes with wall-climbing capability. Mid-sized pools up to 50 feet suit cleaners like the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus, which provides two-hour floor and wall scrubbing.
For large installations up to 88 feet, commercial options like the Dolphin Wave 100 provide remote-control steering and eight-hour runtimes. Other units integrate Wi-Fi connectivity for mobile scheduling and waterline scrubbing. Select your model based on pool dimensions, corded versus battery power, and whether you need remote steering.
Where the Dolphin Lineup Fits
Dolphin designs clean in-ground pools ranging from 33 feet up to 88 feet. You can choose compact 16.5-pound units or heavier 24.6-pound machines built for deep cleaning. The models cover floor scrubbing, wall climbing, and waterline tracking. Control options span manual plug-and-play setups, Wi-Fi connectivity, and dedicated remote steering.
Notable gaps exist across the catalog. The specifications list no dedicated above-ground pool options or models sized between 50 and 88 feet. In addition, none of the listed cleaners include integrated pool lights or voice-assistant support.
If you need to sanitize indoor floors as well, you can review specifications for the best steam cleaners with steam to compare runtime and boiler output.
How to Choose the Right Dolphin Cleaner
-
Power Source and Battery Runtime
Check the power source before buying. Cordless cleaners run on battery power and remove cable tangles across the pool deck. A model like the Dolphin Liberty 200 Cordless Pool Cleaner provides a 90-minute runtime and wall self-parking. This setup suits you if your pool perimeter lacks outdoor outlets. Corded cleaners plug into power supplies directly and run set two-hour cycles without recharging pauses. If you clean large basins continuously, select corded power to avoid recharging downtime between daily cycles.
-
Filtration Type and Basket Access
Examine the filtration setup before buying. Dolphin models use top-load baskets or top-loading cartridges rather than traditional filter bags to simplify regular maintenance. If you need to trap microscopic dirt, check the media type. The Dolphin Nautilus CC with Ultra-Fine Filters provides fine-debris capture for in-ground pools. Standard top-load baskets collect routine debris without extra inserts. If water clarity requires capturing fine particles, choose a model specified with ultra-fine filters or multi-layer filtration rather than a basic single-mesh basket.
-
Wall Climbing Versus Waterline Scrubbing
Check the vertical coverage specifications before choosing a cleaner. Standard models provide wall climbing to scrub pool floors and walls. Advanced options specify waterline cleaning to reach the highest point of your pool surface. The Dolphin Nautilus CC Supreme Wi-Fi Pool Cleaner delivers dual-drive maneuvering and automated waterline scrubbing for in-ground pools up to 50 feet. If you want full-height wall coverage up to the perimeter edge, select a model listing waterline cleaning. If you only need lower surfaces maintained, standard wall climbing is sufficient.
-
Control Method and Wireless Connectivity
Look at the control method and connectivity options. Standard models use plug-and-play operation without requiring mobile app setup. Connected cleaners include Wi-Fi hardware, letting you set schedules and automated cycles through a mobile app. Commercial units, such as the Dolphin Wave 100 Commercial Pool Cleaner, offer dedicated remote control steering to direct the cleaner across specific pool areas. If you want mobile scheduling and remote adjustments, select a Wi-Fi model. If you prefer straightforward push-button maintenance, select a cleaner with simple plug-and-play controls.
-
Machine Weight and Transport Needs
Check the dry weight specification before selecting a cleaner. You must lift the machine out of the pool after each cleaning cycle. Listed weights range from 16.5 pounds up to 24.6 pounds. The Dolphin Nautilus CC Pro Wi-Fi Pool Cleaner weighs 16.5 pounds, making it easier to lift from the water. If you choose a heavier cleaner around 24 pounds, consider configurations that include a transport caddy. A caddy simplifies moving the cleaner to storage and managing the power cord between cleaning sessions.
-
Pool Size and Cleaning Coverage
Compare the maximum pool size rating against your pool dimensions. Cleaners are rated for specific lengths such as 33 feet, 50 feet, or 88 feet. The Dolphin Proteus DX4 Plus Robotic Pool Cleaner is designed for pools up to 33 feet, delivering complete coverage across floors, walls, and ledges. If you place a 33-foot cleaner in a 50-foot pool, its cable reach and cycle duration will not cover the full area. Always select a model with a pool size rating matching or exceeding your pool's length.

More advanced options, such as the Nautilus CC Pro and Nautilus CC Supreme, climb all the way up to clean the waterline as well.
