Our top pick: Betta SE Plus Pool Skimmer with Storage Bag.
How alternatives differ from Betta SE Plus
Beatbot iSkim Solar Pool Skimmer
The Beatbot iSkim Solar Pool Skimmer replaces the wireless remote with app control, offering remote management from your phone. It is larger at 23 inches wide and 12 inches tall, providing a broader cleaning path than the 19-inch Betta. This model prioritizes obstacle avoidance technology, similar to the Betta’s ultrasonic radar, but integrates it into a smart home ecosystem. You gain convenience through digital control, though you lose the tactile simplicity of a physical remote. It is ideal for users who prefer automated scheduling and remote monitoring over manual operation.
Betta Neo Solar Pool Skimmer
The Betta Neo Solar Pool Skimmer shifts control from a wireless remote to app management, allowing you to monitor cleaning status remotely. It is significantly smaller, measuring 17 inches wide and weighing just 9 pounds, compared to the SE Plus’s 14.7 pounds. This compact design makes it easier to handle and store, fitting well in smaller or above-ground pools. While it retains solar power, the reduced size may impact runtime or debris capacity. You should choose this if you value smart connectivity and portability over the larger footprint and remote control of the SE Plus.
Betta SE Plus Solar Pool Skimmer
The standard Betta SE Plus Solar Pool Skimmer is nearly identical to the SE Plus with Storage Bag but lacks the included carrying case. It measures 18.5 inches wide and weighs 15 pounds, slightly lighter than the bagged version. This model offers the same solar-powered surface cleaning and wireless remote control. You save on the bulk of the storage bag but must find your own storage solution. It is a practical choice for users who already have storage space and want the core cleaning features without the extra accessory.
Betta SE Solar Pool Surface Skimmer
The Betta SE Solar Pool Surface Skimmer is a simplified version of the SE Plus, focusing on continuous solar-powered surface cleaning. It shares the same 19-inch width and 8-inch height but weighs 14.5 pounds. This model removes some of the advanced features found in the Plus version, such as the specific smart auto-cleaning system or ultrasonic radar enhancements. It relies on basic solar efficiency for daily debris removal. You should pick this if you want a straightforward, no-frills solar skimmer that performs core surface cleaning without the added complexity or cost of the Plus model.
Beatbot Sora 10 Cordless Pool Vacuum
The Beatbot Sora 10 Cordless Pool Vacuum differs fundamentally by targeting deep cleaning rather than surface skimming. It is much smaller, measuring 5.91 inches long, and designed for wall and floor cleaning in above-ground pools. Unlike the Betta SE Plus, which floats and cleans the surface, this unit dives to scrub surfaces. It uses a cordless design with strong suction power. You choose this if your primary need is removing dirt from the pool floor and walls, rather than just leaves and debris from the water surface. It complements the SE Plus rather than replacing it.
Dolphin Nautilus Pool-Up Wall Climbing Cleaner
The Dolphin Nautilus Pool-Up Wall Climbing Cleaner is a wired unit designed for wall and floor cleaning in small pools. It is significantly lighter at 3.53 ounces and measures 16 inches wide. Unlike the floating Betta SE Plus, this cleaner climbs walls and scrubs surfaces actively. It offers one-touch operation and completes cleaning in two hours. You should select this if you need thorough deep cleaning of vertical surfaces and the pool floor. It is not a surface skimmer, so it serves a different purpose than the Betta SE Plus, which focuses on keeping the water surface clear.
