SMONET Pool Cleaner Lineup Overview
SMONET offers two solar-powered skimmers for above-ground pools. Both models run on solar energy and float on the surface. They differ in design and navigation. The top pick includes obstacle avoidance. This feature helps it navigate standard pools without getting stuck. It measures 25 by 21 by 7 inches. The second option lacks this specific sensor. It is slightly larger at 26 by 21 by 8 inches. You should choose the first model if you want automated navigation. Pick the second if you need a basic solar skimmer for irregular pools. Both are cordless and blue. They handle surface debris well. Neither model cleans the pool floor. They focus entirely on the water surface. This keeps your pool clear of leaves and dust.
Who Should Buy SMONET Pool Skimmers
SMONET’s current lineup focuses on solar-powered surface skimmers for above-ground pools. The range spans from the 25-inch SR-Blue to the 21-inch wide Solar Cordless Pool Skimmer Robot. Both models prioritize low-maintenance leaf removal without cords. The top pick adds obstacle avoidance for standard pool shapes. You will not find deep-cleaning scrubbers or robotic mops here. These units stay on the surface. If you need underwater vacuuming or wall-climbing features, this brand does not offer them in this list. The gap is clear: these are dedicated surface cleaners only.
How to Choose a SMONET Pool Skimmer
-
Check Power Source
Both models in this guide rely on solar power. This means you do not need to worry about tangled cords or battery charging cycles. The units float and harvest energy directly from sunlight. This design suits users who want a set-and-forget solution for daily leaf removal. Ensure your pool area receives adequate direct sunlight for optimal performance. Solar operation keeps maintenance costs low and simplifies the cleaning routine for above-ground pools.
-
Consider Obstacle Avoidance
The top pick features obstacle avoidance technology. This spec helps the robot navigate standard pool shapes without getting stuck on corners or steps. If your pool has a regular rectangular layout, this feature adds reliability. The second model lacks this specific attribute in the provided data. You should verify if your pool layout requires advanced navigation or if simple floating is sufficient for your needs.
-
Match Pool Type
Both units are ideal for above-ground pools. They are designed to float on the surface to collect debris. Do not expect them to clean the pool floor or walls. If you need a cleaner for in-ground pools or deep water scrubbing, these models are not suitable. Confirm your pool is an above-ground type before purchasing. These skimmers excel at surface debris removal in standard configurations.
-
Review Dimensions
Size impacts coverage and storage. The top pick is 25 inches long and 21 inches wide. The second model is slightly larger at 26 inches long and 21 inches wide. Both have a height of around 7 to 8 inches. Consider your pool size and storage space. A larger footprint might cover more surface area per pass. Check if the width fits comfortably in your pool without obstructing swimming or other equipment.
-
Assess Navigation Needs
The first model is noted for standard pool navigation due to its obstacle avoidance. The second model is described as fitting irregular pools. This suggests different navigation behaviors. If your pool has complex shapes, verify which model handles those curves better. The data highlights the top pick for standard pools. Choose based on whether your pool geometry is simple or requires adaptive routing for consistent cleaning.
