How to choose the right one
-
Check suction power needs
Suction strength determines how well a unit picks up debris from carpets and hard floors. The L40s Ultra CE offers 13,000Pa of suction, which helps manage pet hair and embedded dirt. If you have heavy shedding pets or thick rugs, higher suction is essential. Lower suction models may struggle with deep cleaning tasks. Compare the Pascal rating to ensure the vacuum meets your home's dirt load. Stronger suction often correlates with better performance on mixed flooring types. Choose based on your specific floor coverage needs.
-
Evaluate control methods
Control interfaces vary significantly across models. The L10s Ultra supports Alexa voice commands, allowing hands-free operation through smart home integration. The L40 Ultra emphasizes voice control for users who prefer speaking over pressing buttons. If you value convenience, check for compatible smart assistant support. Traditional remote controls are not mentioned for all models, so verify the interface type. Voice control can simplify scheduling and start-stop commands. Ensure your preferred smart home ecosystem is supported before purchasing to guarantee seamless daily use.
-
Consider base weight limits
Self-emptying bases add substantial weight to the setup. The L40s Ultra CE base weighs 17 pounds, while the L40s Ultra AE and L40 Ultra bases reach approximately 30 pounds. You must ensure your chosen location can support this load without damage. Heavier bases often house larger dustbins, reducing emptying frequency. However, they require sturdier flooring or dedicated stands. Lighter bases like the L10s Ultra are easier to move for maintenance. Measure your space and check weight capacity before placing the dock near walls or corners.
-
Match features to hair type
Hair management is critical for households with long hair or pets. The L40s Ultra CE and L40s Ultra AE are noted for effective hair handling. The AE model specifically includes hair-cutting brushes to prevent tangling. If you struggle with hair wrap issues, prioritize models with anti-tangle technology. These features reduce manual cleaning of the brush roll. Check the product description for specific hair management claims. Matching your home's hair type to the right model saves time and keeps the machine running efficiently without frequent interruptions.
-
Assess mopping hygiene needs
Self-cleaning mops maintain hygiene by washing the pads automatically. The L10s Ultra focuses on balanced self-cleaning for busy households. The L40s Ultra AE adds hot-water mop cleaning for deeper sanitation. Hot water helps remove grease and stubborn stains more effectively than cold water. If you prioritize sanitary floors, look for hot-water capabilities. Standard self-cleaning is sufficient for light dirt. Evaluate how often you mop to determine if advanced hygiene features are necessary for your routine.
